Full Day Bullying Workshop at Gingolx, on Northern B.C's Coast

On April 20th we enjoyed a beautiful day in Gingolx, the kind welcome we received was amazing.  I spoke on overcoming bullying to a large range of audience members from age 11 to 80.  There were many 'aha' moments, laughter, sharing, discovery and encouragment.
Here is what some of the people from the workshop had to say:

“This workshop helped me to realize that I need to keep my eyes and ears open to people that are being bullied and helped me to understand why some people may turn to bullying and how to deal with these situations in a reasonable manner.”
“Lots of fun, very well explained, very interesting.
“It was a very good workshop, we need more like it, very good.”

Do you long for more quality time with your family, do you want to teach your children about empathy and compassion, do you want practical ways to make a difference;  then this workshop is just what you need!  You will realize:

  • How giving to others gives us and our children so much in return:   self-confidence, greater respect for ourselves, the environment and others, an attitude of gratitude, empathy and deeper compassion.
  • Practical ways to teach children to want less and give more.
  • Simple activities to do as a family that make a BIG impact.
  • How we can change our own perceptions and decisions to have a positive impact on the lives of those we love.
  • Ways to put the power of gratitude to work in your life.

Katrina Glen will be speaking on:

Dare to Be in the moment
Balancing the many demands on parents in the 21st century is no small task.  If you find yourself saying, “if only there were more hours in the day…” this workshop is for YOU!  You will:

  • Realize what brings you joy and where your priorities lie.
  • Find creative and fun ways to enjoy the simple everyday tasks and how to get your children more involved.
  • Learn a new concept of time management which will allow you the structure of goal setting and to do lists, but also gives you the freedom of spontaneity and embracing life’s surprises.
  • Discover  the “Good, Better, Best Philosophy,” and realize it is ok to say NO!
  • Take a deeper look at what your life vision is.
  • Toss the guilt and find ways to renew yourself.

Dare to Be the Change Workshop for School District no.23

Last week, Chantelle and I found ourselves surrounded by 130 grade five students from all over Kelowna and the Westside at the Care and Make it Fair Forum.  A few lucky kids from each school got to skip class and learn about how they can make a difference.

It was an amazing day, the kids were so aware of the needs in the world.  They were reminded of how fortunate they are for having shoes to wear, a choice of clothing and expensive toys to play with.  They realized that they can make a difference in the world and learned how they can be the change.  As Chantelle and I presented to these wonderful individuals we were impressed by their feelings of love for others throughout the world.  We presented them with short films, interactive play and finally got them working on an action plan which helped them move one step closer to making a difference.

If you, your school, youth group or church group would like us to share one of our interactive presentations with your youth or organization we would love to hear from you.
Some of our topics include:

Dare to Be You
Dare to Be a Dreamer
Dare to Be in the Moment
Dare to Be the Change
Dare to Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

Our message caters to many age groups, if there is another subject you would like us to present on please contact us; we would be happy to work on something especially for you and specific to your needs.
